City anniversary - 725 years Dusseldorf

Already 725 historically eventful years full of legends and myths, great rulers and princes, an industrial boom and high-quality commercial entities Dusseldorf on the Rhine has behind. 1288 the site of the Düsseldorf was officially a city charter by Count Adolf of Berg awarded.

725th anniversary of the city of Dusseldorf 

The city foundation on August 14th 1288 was celebrated throughout last year: The exhibition "town foundation", was shown in the Dusseldorf City useum with original documents and artifacts from the early days. In addition, visitors got an impression of how the place at Dussel and Rhine was built in the Middle Ages. Then more enthusiastic exhibitions such as "That was the Zoo of Dusseldorf" or audiovisual presentation "Your Dusseldorf" with citizens of posts in the Town Hall Foyer residents and visitors to the city. One of the highlights of the year was the great street festival on September 7th and 8th 2013. With about a month delay the city foundation was finally designed with a lot of music, medieval market life and shows. The famous Castle Square turned into a big stage, while the square was completely presented in medieval garb in front of the town hall.

To look to the past, the city followed up on the Rhine promenade with a vision of the future. Here are presented the young businesses and citizens initiatives with new projects and innovations. Then the inquiring mind of the city at the first night of Düsseldorf science was highlighted on 27 September, in which, inter alia, the Heinrich-Heine University and the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule involved.
